Double Post Thursday

Decided to do a double post today before my crazy, hectic weekend starts! I can't believe how much we have had to cram into this week. We have a thousand things to do/fix up in our new house before moving. On top of that i've had Parent-Teacher Conferences this week, and Josh has a big test tomorrow. Let's hope we make it through! This outfit is an easy, comfy, go-to for me. You can't go wrong with red polka-dot pants and a cardigan.

My Favorite Things

I have been using a few products as of late that have really done me well, so I thought i'd share :) They are all pictured below, starting with the left:
2. John Frieda Luxurious Volume Lavish Lift Root Booster
3. theBalm Eyeshadow
4. theBalm 'Hot Mama' Highlighting Powder Eyeshadow & Blush

The first thing I wanted to talk about was the John Frieda Volume line....OMG, amaze balls! (My husband will roll his eyes at me if he reads that).  I have very fine, flat hair that can be frustrating to deal with. I heard about this line in various magazines-it had gotten great reviews. I bought it a few months ago and have been loving it. You can put the mousse in your hair after the shower or spritz your roots with the root booster when your hair is damp. It gives your hair an extra lift. Go try it!
Next up, theBalm cosmetics. Love, love, love! I originally got these in my Birchbox and swooned the first time I used them. The one on the left is a light golden eyeshadow. It goes on so smooth, stays on all day, and is a great neutral, everyday wear, eyeshadow. I can't live without it. The one on the right (Hot Moma) is a eyeshadow/blush mix. I only use this as blush, but again, great quality, great color, stays on all day. Besides all that, they are packaged perfectly....so cute.

Changes

There have been big things going on in the Sharp household as of late. I am happy to announce that we bought our first house! It has been a long, exciting, roller coaster of an experience but it was worth it! We started looking for houses this past fall and found a great house in December. We put an offer in and it got accepted just after Christmas. Then the fun began....getting all of the paperwork together and correct seemed to take forever. We were hoping to close on our house the beginning of February, that didn't happen. FINALLY, we closed and got the keys to our home yesterday :) It is a great feeling and now all of the hard work begins. We have been painting and fixing up the house with every spare second we have. I can't wait for the before/after pictures. For now, I just hope everything goes relatively smooth so that we can move in on time!

Winter to Spring

Have you noticed the trend in my last few posts? I can't stop thinking about spring! I found this cute dress a few weeks ago and I love it more than expected because it'll be perfect to transition into the warmer months. It's a lightweight, comfy fabric that can be worn a million ways! For the cold weekend I paired it with a long sleeved tee, ankle boots, and layered on a denim vest.

Black

I'm officially boycotting this snow with my all black, sort of gloomy outfit. I am SO ready for spring. I miss the sun. I am getting tired of wearing my coats. Let's cross our fingers for an early spring, that groundhog better have been right!

DIY: Easter

Easter....already?! Believe it or not, Easter is just over a month away. I have gathered a good amount of decor for the other holidays but I basically have nothing for Easter. I'm sure you've seen banners all around lately, or you probably have some for your own home. I think they are an easy, cute, fun way to spice up your home. I made an Easter banner using scrapbook paper, cutout letters, string, and laundry clips-simple! The colors are a bit different than the 'usual' Easter colors, but I prefer it.

Next, I HALF made an Easter basket. I saw a few ideas on Pinterest and I thought this would be a fairly easy task. I already had this green Easter basket from last year and I used leftover fabric. I didn't cut the fabric into strands, I ripped them so that they'd have the worn out edges. Then I got to work, all you do is wrap and wrap and wrap. I'm probably not going to use it as Beckett's Easter basket (too small), maybe as a candy holder. Anyways, you can do a lot with these two ideas and make them your own!

T-shirt & Heels

Haven't you all been loving the sunshine lately? I sure have. Spring is almost here. I got this fun head scarf and really love it, you can wear it so many ways. Besides, it's leopard print-and leopard prints rock.  I also love the idea of mixing fancy and casual, I think its a fun combo. Have a great President's Day Weekend!

Happy Valentine's :)

Oh, the day of love :) I have gone back and forth through the years on whether or not I actually like Valentines Day. I suppose it just depends on the year. However, all holidays are 10 times more fun when you have a kid. They make it new and fresh again. In honor of vday, I had to sport something red. Duh!

Layers

My husband mentioned the other day that January was the coldest month Utah has had since the 1940's. With that being said, layering is a necessity! I feel like I have been constantly cold for so long now. I am beyond ready to feel the warm sunny rays on my pale skin. Happy week of love!

I made these 2 items for a baby shower I just helped throw. They are delish! I like both of these because they are dependable recipes, they always manage to turn out.

1 C country time lemonade mix
2 C cold water
1 can chilled pineapple juice (46 oz)
2 cans Sprite, chilled

Mix all of the ingredients together and WAHLAH a yummy drink :)

*Tip: if you don't want a drink that is too tart, add more water or less lemonade mix.

Candied Walnut Salad

1 lb mixed greens
1/2 C craisins
1/2 C candied walnuts
4-6 oz blue or gorgonzola cheese

Peanut Butter Goodness

Best cookie recipe! This recipe is similar to your traditional peanut butter cookie.....but with more Pizazz. That's right, pizazz. This recipe is pretty easy and is fairly fool proof. I highly recommend you try it out.

Peanut Butter Cuppies

1 1/2 C flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 C butter, softened
1 C peanut butter
1 C sugar
1 egg
2 tsp vanilla
Mini Peanut Butter Cups (or hershey's kisses OR chocolate chips)

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift flour, soda, and salt together and set aside.
2. Beat butter and peanut butter together, add sugar, egg, and vanilla. Mix together.
3. Add peanut butter mixture to flour mixture  and combine.
4. Roll dough into 1- 1 1/2 inch balls and then roll them in sugar to coat.
5. Press rolled balls into a mini cupcake pan. Place mini peanut butter cups or kisses into the middle.
6. Bake 8-10 minuts. Remove & let cool before removing

Camo & Converse

I hope you all had a fabulous Super Bowl Sunday! I feel like i'm still in a food coma. It's always good to have an excuse to eat unhealthy ever once in a while :)

This outfit was inspired by.....comfort! I love pulling out my old converse shoes; they are well worn in, which is the best part. And these camo pants? Let me tell you about them. I have been looking for a good pair for a while but they've been sold out everywhere. I finally found these last week at Target. They are 'Flipside' jeans, which is a line of jeans that are reversable! For being reversable they actually fit really well and don't feel too cheap. They had a super cute red patterned pair (different pattern print on each side) that I loved as well. The ones I am wearing are plain green on the other side.

Crazy Pants

Anybody else in love with patterned leggings? I know that I sure am. Leggings are super comfortable and a good staple to have in your closet. They also work great for all of the crazy seasons that Utah weather has to offer. I even took off my jacket for a little bit, it felt great! However, it did give me spring fever. The groundhog said it would be an early spring, let's cross our fingers :)
